AUTOMATIC GRADING IS NOW A REALITY WITH MiCROTEC!

MiCROTEC sets another industry milestone by becoming the first to automate the grading of pine logs—eliminating the need for human intervention. This breakthrough follows MiCROTEC’s earlier achievement as the first to receive Sweden’s official type approval for automated species recognition of spruce and pine.

Now, with the recent addition of the type approval from BIOMETRIA for top-break detection, sawmills can perform fully compliant, high-speed classification of pine logs using MiCROTEC’s advanced scanning and AI-driven technology. This advancement ensures objective, repeatable, and accurate grading while boosting material yield and operational efficiency.

Tests for the approval were performed at SCA Bollstabruck / Sweden, and their production using the new features to automatically run logs for payment is scheduled to start today.
