Nordanå invests in Sweden's first new Finscan

MiCROTEC has received an order for a Finscan from Nordanå Trä, that are currently investing in a new green sorting and dry mill. The installation is planned for the summer of 2025 and will be the first new Finscan installation in Sweden.

Nordanå Trä currently produces just over 70,000 m³ of sawn timber per year and plans to double production in the coming years. The raw material is sourced locally from Hälsingland - one of Sweden's best raw material districts. The sawmill produces 3.0m in both pine and spruce, of which about 75% goes for export.

Finscan is an advanced transverse scanner specialized in Nordic wood species and ensures increased yield and consistent quality. The new generation Finscan is equipped with MiCROTEC's 3D module and proprietary Crometic cameras, which enable true full-length thickness measurement and improved wane detection. The system is fully integrated with the MiCROTEC AI platform and MiCROTEC Connect, providing further optimization opportunities.

»We are very pleased to deliver the first new Finscan in Sweden to Nordanå. This project confirms our leading position in the wood industry and our commitment to deliver the highest possible quality and efficiency.«
