First official type approval for species recognition in Sweden

We are proud to announce that MiCROTEC is the first to receive a Type Approval from Biometria for log species recognition of spruce and pine with the CT Log and Logeye. This has been achieved by combining x-ray data from the scanners to train MiCROTEC Ai neural networks on Swedish pine and spruce logs. This innovation and progress marks an important step towards fully automated log grading in the industry.

With an accuracy above the Biometria type approval criteria of 98%, the species recognition feature provides a reliable grading for MiCROTEC customers. The precision in the scanner makes the automatic species recognition equivalent to human sorting, or even better. The tests for the certification were performed with the CT Log at SCA Bollsta and with the Logeye at Hilmer Andersson.

This new certified feature will be available as an upgrade for customers with the CT Log and Logeye 302.
